He added: “When you look at the West Indies, people might say that I sound biased, but in the past four (three) games, we have managed to make it to the last four games and won two of them. .

“Our players, the level of players we have-when you look at the captain (Keelong) Pollard, he is back, the universe boss Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Jason Holder , Fabian Allen, Evan Lewis, I can make a long list of those who can attack you.”

The West Indies won the championship in 2012 and 2016. In both competitions, Sammy was the captain.

The 37-year-old player believes that teams that are still seeking world T20 titles, such as England and Australia, may perform well in tournaments hosted by the UAE and Oman.

“When you look at England, they have been playing some excellent T20 cricket-finalists of the last 2016 (Men’s T20 World Cup) and they won the game in the Caribbean.

“For me, this means that the two stadiums with similar venues-India and the Caribbean-have won, they have reached the finals, so their players have adapted well to the conditions,” Sammy said.

He added that Australia will also be eager to go further.

“Look at anyone in Australia who hasn’t got this silverware yet, they will get it desperately. The qualities of the players they have-so many players playing in the IPL-they understand the conditions,” Sammy added.

Sammy also believes that the tough Russell will become the most valuable player in this tournament.

“The one who hits in the top three should get the most runs. You say someone like Virat Kohli. But getting the most runs doesn’t necessarily mean your team won the game.

“I’m more interested in who will become the’tournament best player’. Someone like Andre Russell, who throws and hits at critical moments, will win this title,” Sami asserted.

The men’s T20 World Cup will be held in Oman and the UAE from October 17th to November 14th. On October 23rd, the Super 12 stage exhibit activities will begin.
