Natasha Denona Macro Tech Eyeliner Review and Swatches

Must read

Burgundy

Natasha Denona Burgundy Macro Tech Eye CrayonNatasha Denona Burgundy Macro Tech Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.04 ounces) is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture is almost too creamy because the tip of the pencil tends to get mushy due to pressure, but when I use it on my lower lash line (more delicate than my arm!), this is not a problem.

It has opaque color coverage in a single layer and can be applied evenly and smoothly on my skin. The drying time is a bit longer than average, so it is very blendable and spreadable, although it pulled into a thin line or two, so I had to go back and fix it. Once set up, I did not have that problem again. The eyeliner lasted for nine hours, and then it became noticeably thinner in my eyes, which is far from 24 hours on the market.

The formula should have a “full return”, with a waterproof “soft, creamy gliding”. The brand does claim that they are “[l]Wear-resistant and non-staining, non-transfer characteristics, can keep perfect for 24 hours. The initially released shades are colored—mostly opaque to completely opaque—and have a very smooth creamy consistency, which takes longer to dry out.

The advantage of a longer drying time is that they are easy to apply, mix and apply as needed. I found that using some foundations, such as brighter ones, the eyeliner might spread out a bit when it dries, so I had to go back to soften the edges. However, once it dries, it will not continue to do so.

Wearing time is longer, obviously thinning after 9 hours of wearing, but they are definitely not close to 24 hours of wearing. The longest eyeliner for me is usually between 12 and 14 hours.

Brown

Natasha Denona Brown Macro Tech Eye CrayonNatasha Denona Brown Macro Tech Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.04 ounces) is a medium dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and matte finish. It has almost opaque color coverage and is easy to establish to full coverage.

The texture is very creamy, smooth and emollient, which allows it to have a longer mixing and application time, although it will sneak into my fine lines whenever I wear a dewier base. I was able to go back and wipe/mix it back, and I did not continue to have problems during the wear and tear. This shade can be worn for nine hours before it looks thinner and fades slightly, although it is sold as having a 24-hour wear (sigh!).

Black

Natasha Denona Black Macro Tech Eye CrayonNatasha Denona Black Macro Tech Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.04 ounces) is a rich black with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It has almost opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, and considering its usefulness as a thin line, it is easy to be opaque by layering or seeing it in person.

The texture is very creamy, smooth, and has moderate glide, so it takes longer to set, which makes it an easier to apply formula, but I have to make sure I am not pairing it with a brighter foundation, otherwise I There is some migration because it is drying out. I was able to diffuse/mix the lines when they dried out, and then there was no further problem when migrating. After nine hours of wearing, the eyeliner becomes thinner/fading…not even 24 hours of wearing.
