Urban Decay Drive In and Olvera Vice moisturizing lipstick review and swatches

Must read

The texture is slightly harder at first, but it quickly heats up to make it more flexible. It is light weight, a bit sticky but shiny, and comfortable to wear. It stays well for five hours, leaves soft stains, and moisturizes when worn.

The formula should be “super pigmented”, “moisturizing” and “long-lasting”. There are three types of finishes: milky white, matte and shiny. The way they feel, apply and wear depends on the finish, so I break down the overview by finish.

The matte finish is comparable to the original comfortable matte finish in the Vice Lipstick formula. They have a creamy, smooth consistency and have a more satin finish than a true matte finish. As some glosses are worn away, they will wear out into a more semi-matte to matte finish. They are usually opaque, are quite tolerant of blemishes on the lips, and can be worn for between four and six hours. There are several shades, usually at the lighter end of the color spectrum, which blends into my lip line more easily.

Some of the shades in the matte finish are truly matte, more like traditional matte. Although they are still smooth and emollient enough to be applied without pulling, they are thinner and feel “close to the touch”. “(It’s just not the emphasis on lip wrinkles or uncomfortable wearing).

The Cream finish is comparable to the original Cream finish in the Vice Lipstick formula. The texture is smooth and more like a gel cream because it is thick and slightly sticky, so it glides better once it rests on my lips. I have always liked-and love to reformulate-the texture helps to maintain the color, making it look smoother and fit my lips better, while still giving off a lot of shine. The coverage and wear time of these shades is about four to five hours, ranging from translucent to opaque.

Shine finishes are the most comparable to the original Sheer finishes in the Vice Lipstick formula, but for me, these are not very comparable to the other two finishes. Shine finish is a very smooth gel-like lip balm, which has a strong sliding property, is not sticky, and is very shiny. They are almost easy to overapply because they are very soft and creamy (which is why they use a thin tube to prevent the lipstick from cracking at the bottom). These shades range from translucent to mostly opaque, with some translucency. They lasted about two to four hours.

Most shades are moisturizing, although some more realistic matte shades are less drying. There is no discernible smell or taste.

This is one of the more flattering shades in the series because it softens my lip line and is very forgiving of any texture on my lips. After the first use, the consistency is light, smooth and slightly sticky. It lasted for five hours and it moisturized over time.
